Avaada Power Pvt Ltd (Avaada) is a Vineet Mittal group entity. Avaada, as on January 30, 2017, holds 27.70 per cent in Welspun Energy Private Limited (WEPL, rated CARE A+, Stable - CARE A1+) the former holding company of WREPL. WEPL is engaged in the business of EPC, generation of power through renewable resources which includes but not limited to generation of power using coal as raw material or generation of solar, wind, hydro power, distribution, trading and transmission etc.

The company is engaged in power generation. The company operates a natural gas based combined cycle power plant located at Ravulapalem near Rajahmundry with a generating capacity of 460 MW. Phase I of the plant consists of two gas turbine generators manufactured by Siemens and a steam turbine generator of LMZ Russia. Currently, company is focused on undertaking the expansion of the 820 MW power plant consisting of two combined cycle modules. It has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with AP TRANSCO to purchase power at 85% plant load factor, for a period of 23 years.
Bokaro Power Supply Co Pvt. Ltd. (BPSCL) came into being on 18.9.2001 under Companies Act 1956 as part of Steel Authority Of India Ltd (SAIL) Business Reconstruction and Restructuring Plan and with intent to strenghten its core business activity (i.e steel manufacturing). SAIL has assigned its entire business as a going concern pertaining to the Capacity of steam generation 660 T/hr. of BSL by the deed of transfer and assignment of business.
The company is established for power generation with eight operational power plants, which have a combined power generation capacity of 376 MW. We currently have four power projects under implementation, which will increase our combined power generation capacity by 1829.26 MW. They are also planning to develop three more brown field power projects out of which two are coal-based thermal power projects at Jharsuguda, Orissa and Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, and one gas based power project in Ramnad District, Tamil Nadu with a combined power generation capacity of 1, 339.26 MW. For the fiscal year 2011 our consolidated total income was Rs.7736.64 million. and net profit of Rs.1428.96 million respectively.

NSL Renewable Power has wind, biomass, hydel and solar power projects to its portfolio. The company currently has 159.50 MW of operating capacity power, out of which 147.40 MW is wind power and 12 MW is biomass power. The company is in the process of setting up 700 MW of wind power projects in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu for which allotments are in place. NSL conventional power is implementing two mega super critical thermal power projects with a total capacity of 3960 MW in the states of Tamil Nadu (two phases) and Orissa.
