Spectrum Power Generation Ltd (SPGL) is one of the eight fast track private sector power projects approved by the Government of India. The company was formed and incorporated on October 26, 1992 to develop, construct, own and operate a dual fuel fired combined cycle power plant using Gas and Naphtha. The installed capacity of the plant is 208MW with a configuration of three Gas Turbines and one Steam Turbine.
Malana Power Company Ltd is implementing the run-of-the-river scheme- Malana hydroelectric project on the river Malana in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The construction of the 86 MW project was started in January, 1999 and it was commissioned in a record period of 30 months. IPCL has always aimed at optimizing its distribution assets and creating benchmarks in efficiency by outperforming industry standards. As such, the T and D loss figures stand at less than 3% against the all India average of about 25%.
