Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency, has been constituted on 25th May 2001 under the Department of Energy, Government of Chhattisgarh for implementation of various schemes pertaining to Renewable Energy sources and Energy Conservation activities. It is registered under Society Act 1973 with the controlling body being Ministry of Energy, Govt. of Chhattisgarh headed by Hon'ble Chief Minister Chhattisgarh as Chairman and Principal Secretary (Energy) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). CREDA is established as the State Nodal Agency by State Govt. for development and popularization of non-conventional and renewable sources of energy. Most of the scheme like National Programme on Bio-gas Development, Solar Thermal, Solar Photo Voltaic, Remote Village Electrification and Biomass Gasifier, sponsored by Ministry of Non-Conventional and Renewable Energy Sources (MNRE), Government of India are implemented by CREDA.
The Ladakh Renewable Energy Development Agency (LREDA) is the nodal agency for implementation in Ladakh of all non-conventional energy programmes of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India.
BREDA has been implementing programme of non-conventional energy sources for schemes are bio-gas development, SPV systems of Lanterns/Home lighting systems/street lighting systems, and wind mills. Under the Border Area Development Programme, BREDA has implemented a scheme of solar street lighting system in 40 villages along the International Border in the Border.
The A and N Islands have a total area of 8249 sq.km. out of which the forest cover is about 7589 sq.km.(92%). These islands enjoy a thick forest, rich environment, abundant sea wealth, which boost a high tourist attraction. These islands are divided in three district viz. Andaman, Nicobar and North Middle Andaman. The seat of the Administration is at Port Blair (South Andaman) in which 14.14 sq.kms. area is under the jurisdiction of Port Blair Municipal Council.
UREDA has been encouraged to take a leading role in the development of the renewable energy sector in line with the guidance of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the conductive platform for the promotion of energy conservation. UREDA has installed renewable energy systems and devices at these places so as to illuminate these religious locations as also to supplement the energy requirement by way of providing green and clean energy.
Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) is the State Nodal Agency for implementing New and Renewable Energy Projects in the State Tripura, India. TREDA was established in the year 1998 and the activities of TREDA were extended throughout the State. TREDA is dedicated to promote the new and renewable energy resources.
The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) was constituted as a State Nodal agency in the 1984 under aegis of Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of Odisha with the view to popularize the exploitation and use of renewable energy resources in the State. The mandate of the agency covers the entire gamut of renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal and tidal energy sources.
