NTPC starts Unit-I of 660 mw Barh power project
Media reports say that the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has commissioned the Unit-I of 660 mw of Barh Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II recently.
The Barh Super Thermal Power Station or NTPC Barh is in Barh of Bihar in Patna district. About 1,186.01 acres of land has been acquired for setting up the main power plant. State II of the the Unit-I of 660 Barh project was commissioned on November 30.
The then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had laid the foundation stone of the main plant of stage-1 of NTPC Barh on March 6, 1999. Former Union power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had inaugurated the main plant house of stage-2 of NTPC Barh on May 29, 2006.
