Areva commissions 765 kV transformer
March 2011


Areva T&D India has commissioned the country's first indigenously developed 765 kV transformer at Lanco Infratech's Anpara-C power project in Uttar Pradesh. Rathin Basu, Managing Director, Areva T&D said, "The commissioning of India's first 765 kV ultra high voltage power transformer, designed, manufactured and tested locally in Vadodara, is a major landmark in the Indian power industry." Lanco Infratech had earlier awarded the order worth Rs 200 crore to Areva T&D India, the transmission activities of which is now part of the Alstom Group. Lanco Infratech is building a 1,200 MW (2X600 MW) Anpara-C thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh.
