Aramco plans six new power generation facilities
Saudi Aramco is planning to set up six power generation facilities at an estimated total cost of $1billion to meet its growing electricity needs. The move is prompted by concerns over capacity of Saudi Electricity Company to provide the required levels of power supply. Three of the projects could be expansions of existing plants owned by Aramco's current power supplier, the Tihama Power Generation Company, a joint venture of International Power and Saudi Oger.
