BGR Energy bags 660 MW boiler contract
BGR Energy has emerged as the lowest bidder for the NTPC super-critical boiler tender. This tender is for supply of 11x660 MW super-critical boiler for the following five projects viz., Mouda super thermal power project, Solapur super thermal power project, Nabinagar super thermal power project, Meja thermal power project and the Raghunathpur thermal power project. This tender is part of the government’s ambitious plans to add generation capacity in India by adopting super-critical technology and with an objective to import and indigenise technology for manufacture of super-critical boiler and steam turbine generators. NTPC has already invited tenders for 800 MW super-critical units and BGR Energy has emerged as the L1 bidder for supply of super-critical steam turbine generator of 4 units. The company’s current order book stands at Rs 8,200 crore.
