Power cuts continue in Noida, Ghaziabad
The power crisis in Noida and Ghaziabad showed mild signs of improvement on April 15 with several residential sectors and housing societies in the twin cities witnessing shorter outages than last week. However, a few societies, particularly in Ghaziabad, complained of having witnessed numerous outages in the last 18 hours.
Residents of co-operative housing societies in Sectors 60, 61 and 62 of Noida informed there were no prolonged outages since morning even though power cuts of small durations continued throughout the day.
Electricity supply was mostly normal. The discom has informed there would be no more power cuts for long periods, but we fear a repetition of the crisis since acute electricity shortage has marred the city for the past several years, said residents in Noida area.
In Ghaziabad, while several residents in Kaushambi and Vaishali said there were less number of cuts as compared to the past few days, other housing societies, in Indirapuram, confirmed witnessing long hours without electricity. Cumulative outages ranging between three and four hours were reported from Indirapuram between Sunday night and Monday afternoon.
