Simhadri Power commissions 50 mw power plant
Steel Exchange India's special purpose vehicle (SPV) Simhadri Power (SPL) is setting up 60 mw captive power plant, the company has stated this to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company has successfully commissioned the CFBC boiler and turbines with present power generating capacity of 50 mw on November 17, 2012. The balance 10 mw from waste heat recovery is expected to be commissioned by February' 2013.
Simhadri Power will supply 51 per cent of the power generated for captive consumption by the units of the company as per the arrangement entered by the company with SPL and the balance will be exported through merchant sale.
With this, the Company will have substantial savings in costs apart from assured supply of power.
