Energy Efficiency will unlock hidden energy savings | Ravichandran Purushothaman
Speaking at the 15th edition of “CII Energy Efficiency Summit”, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India highlighted the multiple benefits of investing in energy efficient interventions. Given the increased thrust on manufacturing and the emphasis on Make in India, energy consumption is bound to amplify, adding to the burden of an already stretched energy ecosystem. According to Energy Statistics 2015, released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, in 2013-14, industrial sector used 52.72 per cent of the total final energy consumption. It is thus vital for stakeholders to explore technologies and solutions that will help manufacturers deliver more with less. “One of the easiest methods to make industries more efficient and help them optimise productivity with available resources is to equip them with necessary interventions like variable frequency drives that will improve process efficiency, reduce downtime and generate significant energy savings”, said Purushothaman, adding that quality, innovation and reliability should form the building blocks of our technologies and help push the boundaries of what is possible and engineer the dreams of tomorrow, today.
