PXIL's PAT mechanism workshops in Mumbai, Delhi
Power Exchange India (PXIL), in association with the Centre for Clean Air Policy (CCAP), hosted a series of four workshops under a capacity-building programme on perform, achieve and trade (PAT) mechanism in Mumbai and New Delhi. The workshops discussed threadbare the process of implementing a market-based mechanism in energy efficiency.
On the occasion, Mrs Rupa Devi Singh, MD and CEO, PXIL, said, "Energy efficiency has become a mission of national importance and PXIL is proud to be associated deeply in this regard in assisting Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in the design and implementation of the PAT mechanism. The workshops saw deliberations on key topics of PAT mechanism - like the basic concept, international policy mandated market based mechanisms in US and other countries, market and institutional structure that would support the implementation of PAT mechanism, target setting in PAT mechanism, operational models to be adopted by consumers to meet the compliance targets etc. We are happy that the workshops have achieved the core objective of creating awareness about the scheme design and its impact on the concerned stakeholders. The workshops have gone a long way in creating a favourable perception about PXIL as a thought leader in yet another area."
