Rupa Devi Singh, MD & CEO, PXIL
Rupa Devi Singh is the Managing Director and CEO of Power Exchange India (PXIL), which is headquartered in Mumbai. She is the founding CEO of PXIL and had set it up in 2008. She played an important role in institutionalising the exchange and under her leadership it has many firsts to its credit in the Indian power market. She has over 34 years of varied experience across the wide Indian infrastructure sector.
She began her distinguished career as a probationary officer with the State Bank of India (SBI) and during her 20-year association with SBI she occupied various senior management positions and rose to the level of senior vice president - project advisory and structured finance. Prior to joining PXIL, she enjoyed a challenging and interesting stint with the infrastructure advisory business of CRISIL as Director – Power Practice. She has showcased her prowess in financial engineering and played a pioneering role in launching securitisation as a product in the Indian financial markets. Her association with the Indian power sector has seen her work closely on a number of innovative initiatives as well as various policy initiatives by the Ministry of Power under the Electricity Act 2003.
She is a graduate in science and a post-graduate in law from the University of Delhi. She is married with two children. Her hobbies are reading and cooking.
