Centre for Wind Energy Technology (CWET), a research and development institution of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, in collaborating with Non-conventional Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NEDCAP) is setting up Wind Monitoring Station at Sorlagondi in Nagayalanka mandal.
The maiden project is aimed at estimating the source of wind energy on the coastline in Diviseema. CWET experts completed basic survey on various parameters of the wind and suggested to set up Wind Monitoring Station at Sorlagondi.
The installation of a 100-foot high mast equipped with animometers will be completed by the month-end. The mast will collect data of wind speed, direction, temperature and humidity levels at three levels of height, NEDCAP Krishna district Manager K Srinivasa Rao said.
