Understanding the importance of development in the power sector to the economic growth, The Economic Times brings to you the 3rd Annual ¨The Economic Times Power Focus Summit¨ to ponder, deliberate and overcome the challenges of the power sector, on February 23, 2016.
Power being one of the most fundamental aspects of infrastructural development and growth of an economy, the Power Focus Summit will see all major industry leaders and policymakers come together in Delhi to discuss the trends and innovations in the segment.
Elaborating on the event, Deepak Lamba, President, Times Conferences Ltd said, ¨We are enthused to bring the 3rd Annual Power Focus Summit which will deliberate on the power sector of India. Over FY10-15, electricity production has expanded at a CAGR of 6.3 per cent which is an indication of the growth and the scope of this segment. The Indian power system is one of the largest and most complex in the world and we thought this would be the best opportunity to deliberate and come up with the best solutions in this arena.¨
In order to meet the increasing energy demand, the Government of India has set ambitious and aggressive goals like 24x7 power to all households by 2019. The government, along with the policy makers, investors and thought leaders have chalked out various plans to meet this target, keeping in mind the environment and socio-economic implications. Thus, renewable energy is now looked upon as an alternate source of energy to generate electricity.
The summit will be a unique, one of a kind platform which will bring together all stakeholders in the power sector under one roof-government officials, MDs, CEOs and Chairmans of top corporates-to understand and deliberate the challenges faced by the power sector.
