The company has commissioned its first 25 MW crystalline PV solar power plant at Charanka village in Patan district, Gujarat, at a cost of Rs 300 crore. This plant also marks the group’s foray into the renewable energy space. The project was commissioned in December 2011 and holds the distinction of being the first amongst several projects coming up in the solar park to be synchronised with the grid. The company plans to enhance its RE portfolio by over 100 MW in the next two years. The company is presently executing power projects of about 7,500 MW capacity which includes 2,200 MW of hydro capacity.
