Mitsubishi launches energy storage demonstration project

Mitsubishi Corporation reached a basic agreement with AES Corporation and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), which distributes electricity in northern and north-western Delhi, to develop an energy storage demonstration project in India. The project will be concentrated in the grid sectors operated by TPDDL.
Hartek Power’s solar grid EPC portfolio surpasses 500 MW

Chandigarh-based EPC Hartek Power Pvt. Ltd, has successfully connected 270 MW of solar projects spread across Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka to the grid. With the commissioning of these projects, the company’s solar power systems EPC portfolio has surpassed 500 MW.
Sungrow supplied central inverters totalling 18MW in Japan in Dec

Sungrow announced that it supplied central inverters totalling 18 MW in Japan, last December. Sungrow’s containerised SG2000 central inverter has been supplied to the two plants in the area served by Kansai Electric Power (10 MW) and Chubu Electric Power (8 MW) respectively, and have been approved to be connected to local grids.
MNRE announces financial incentives for DISCOMs to support rooftop solar

In a new policy move, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has announced financial incentives for discoms to support rooftop solar installations. The notification proposes a financial support of up to Rs 3.75 million per MW for up to 1,350 MW of rooftop solar capacity.
Corporate Funding in Solar Sector Comes in at $9.1 billion in 2016| Mercom Capital Group

Mercom Capital Group, llc, released its report on funding and merger and acquisition (M&A) activity for the solar sector in 2016. Total global corporate funding in the solar sector, including venture capital/private equity (VC), debt financing, and public market financing, raised by public companies came to $9.1 billion, compared to $25.3 billion in 2015, a 64 percent drop.
