L&T, two others bag UP deal
Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T), Genus Power and Allied Engineering have bagged a contract to supply 10 million pre-paid meters to Uttar Pradesh (UP) under the Saubhagya scheme, which aims to add more than 40 million households to the power grid by December this year.

Plant to generate power from waste at Astoli
A 5 MW waste-to-energy (WTE) plant will be set up in Greater Noida's Astoli village in the next two years, Deepak Agarwal, CEO, Noida Authority, said. The WTE, which will treat nearly 500 tonnes of waste generated by the two cities of Noida and Greater Noida per day, will be readied within 30 months after tenders are finalised.

Power tariff to go up by 7percent in Gr Noida from next week
The Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) - a private company that provides electricity in Greater Noida - has decided to increase tariff rates by up to 7 per cent for domestic consumers and up to 8 per cent for commercial and industrial categories.

New power plant to come up for Delhi, Noida
In order to meet the increasing power demand of Delhi and Noida, UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) is looking to construct a new power generation unit in Khurja. UPSIDC has entered into an agreement with Tehri Hydropower Development Corporation (THDC) for transfer of land to construct a 1,320 MW power generation unit in Khurja.
