Gopal Singh, the chairman of Coal India subsidiary Central Coalfields has been made the temporary chairman of Coal India Ltd (CIL). Singh would continue to be the temporary Chairman till the government finds a full time candidate for the post.

Coal India plans to produce petroleum oil in Jharkhand
Coal India is considering producing petroleum oil at its Chatra coal mine in Jharkhand. Petroleum oil from coal is part of the state-run coal behemoth's diversification plan and it will soon invite an expression of interest for it, Coal India chairman Sutirtha Bhattacharya said.

Singareni Collieries to produce 54 mt this fiscal
Singareni Collieries Chairman and Managing Director Sutirtha Bhattacharya has said the company was confident of meeting the 54 million tonne target fixed for this fiscal, despite some disruption in operations due to rains. In the last 10 years, it had been consistently meeting production targets, he added.
