Tata Power’s renewable portfolio records 329 per cent
Tata Power announced that the company’s renewable portfolio in India has registered a healthy consolidated PAT of Rs 142.18 crore in Q1FY18, an 329 per cent increase from Q1FY17. The renewable business capacity of Tata Power crossed 2000 MW and non-fossil fuel portfolio stood at 3144 MW, an 92 per cent increase from the corresponding quarter last year.
TPREL commissions two projects in AP and TN
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), announced the commissioning of 36 MW wind capacity of a 100 MW wind farm (under construction) at Nimbagallu in Andhra Pradesh, and 49 MW solar plant at Kayathar, Tamil Nadu, under Welspun Renewable Energy Private Limited (WREPL).
Tata Power arm acquires Welspun Renewables Energy Private Limited
Tata Power announced that 100 per cent subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has completed acquisition of 100 per cent shareholding in Welspun Renewables Energy Private Limited and its subsidiaries. This represents the largest transaction in the renewables space in India.
Tata Power to increase its renewable energy capacity
Tata Power plans to increase its renewable energy capacity by about 71 per cent to cut carbon emissions and reduce risks from fuel prices. It is adding 646.7 MW of renewable energy capacity. The company has entered into PPAs with TPREL for electricity generated from a 25 MW solar plant at Palaswadi and a 32 MW wind project at Ambheri, both located in Maharashtra.
