Union govt gives aid to set up bioenergy plants

ONGC pays over Rs.2,900 cr for 2013-14

ONGC has paid 100 per cent interim dividend for the Year 2013-14. The Sudhir Vasudeva, CMD, ONGC handed over a cheque of Rs 2961,27,32,610 to the Petroleum Minister Marepadi Veerappa Moily in Delhi recently towards the Interim Dividend for 2013-14. This represents payment of interim dividend at 100 per cent to the Government of India against its shareholding in ONGC.
Rs.8,000 cr projects in oil, gas sector approved: Moily

The Cabinet Committee on Investments (CII) has cleared Rs 7,947 crore worth projects in the oil and gas sector, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M. Veerappa Moily said. Five projects were taken up by the high-level panel on December 9.
Tamil Nadu tops electricity generation through wind farms

Tamil Nadu ranks first in electricity generation in the country through wind farming with just 74 wind monitoring stations. Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah said the country generated about 19,934 MW of electricity through wind farming and has over 746 wind monitoring stations across 31 states.
Solar plants inaugurated at Kerala

Minister for Power and Transport Aryadan Mohammed inaugurated two solar plants of 50 KW each at the Rubber Research Institute, Kerala. The solar plants have the capacity to produce 400 units daily. The board expects that the solar plants will help it attain self-sufficiency in electricity to a certain extent and the capital investment will be recovered within 10 years.
