Crompton Greaves (CG) announced the setting-up of one of the world's largest ultra high voltage (1,200 kV) research centres at Nashik, as part of their global R&D initiative. Having achieved leadership position in the manufacture of high voltage power products up to 800 kV, this move to set up this UHV research centre at its Ambad plant in Nashik city is a giant leap towards fulfilling its objective of positioning itself as a dominant player in the UHV arena. After laying the foundation stone, S M Trehan, MD, CG, said, "The research activities planned here will enhance the technological capabilities of CG in this advanced technological arena."
