To meet the growing demand of power in west Delhi areas, a Rs 30-crore substation will soon come up in the area. The foundation stone for 66/11 KV Grid Sub-Station in West Delhi's Najafgarh was laid on January 16. To be built at a cost of Rs 30 crore, it will be the 78th in BSES Rajdhani Power (BRPL) area of south and west Delhi.
The power station will substantially improve the power and water supply for nearly three lakh people, BRPL said in statement. The grid is being constructed in partnership with Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
Najafgarh and adjoining areas are witnessing an accelerated level of growth. By setting-up this Grid Sub-Station will help power this development, Delhi Power Minister Haroon Yusuf said after laying the foundation stone.
