The company also announced that holders of the June series of FCCBs approved the company’s proposal for an extension of maturity date of the FCCBs until 27 July 2012. Kirti Vagadia, Chief Financial Officer, Suzlon, said, “Our bondholders have approved our request for up to a 45 day extension of maturity on our June tranche of FCCBs.”The company also announced the launch of its newest wind turbine – the S111 - 2.1 MW machine designed for low-wind speed sites. Tulsi Tanti, CMD, Suzlon Group, said, “This new turbine builds on our extensive experience operating over 2,500 units of our S88, S95 and S97 2.1 MW turbine platforms around the world.”Giving the North American perspective, Duncan Koerbel, Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation’s interim CEO and Global Head of OMS, said, “We will offer the S111 with tower heights of 95 and 120 metres and combined with our all new third-generation rotor, the S111 will deliver a 20 to 29 per cent increase in annual energy production over our S97 design in a 90 metre configuration.” John O’Halloran, President of Technology for Suzlon Energy, said, “The S111 builds on our considerable experience in the 2 MW space and combines it with our leading edge capabilities in blade design and testing to create a highly efficient turbine.
