Hanergy Thin Film Power Group’s US-based subsidiary MiaSolé has finished Europe’s biggest flexible module solar project in Den Bosch. The 418 lightweight MiaSole flexible modules, each measuring 2.6 mX1 m, which were installed on the roof of Maaspoort Sports Centre will make the building as the largest sustainable building. These flexible modules were agglutinated to the Evalon roof, which are not only environment-friendly but also have a long lasting roof membrane that are suitable for PV solar modules as compared to the other roofing materials.
As compared to the traditional crystalline silicon solar modules weighing around 18 kg per sq m, MiaSole’s FLEX.02W 370W modules weigh 3 kg per sq m, having an advantage of being agglutinated directly to the roof surface with no ballast.
“We were confident that the project combining Evalon with flexible thin film PV would have a great market potential. While, we’re aware that there are varied roofing materials available in the market, this lightweight module photovoltaic solution from Hanergy is the only way to further enhance large-scale sustainability,” said Dick Groenenberg, Spokesperson, Weka Company, which is the installer.
