To provide uninterrupted and quality power to the people, the Odisha government has launched Rs 2,600 crore Odisha Distribution System Strengthening Project. The State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the Project in Bhubaneswar on October 7.
The Chief Minister said that the State government would invest Rs 2,600 crore for construction of 500 new 33/11 KV sub-stations under the the flagship infrastructure development project. While 175 sub-stations each would be constructed in the first and second year, the remaining 150 sub-stations would be erected in the third year.
All the 30 districts of the state would be covered under the project and priority focus would be on rural and semi-urban areas. The improved power supply is expected to not only pave way for industrial and agricultural growth and productivity, but also generate more employment opportunities.
