Sanofi India will use wind power for its greenfield manufacturing plant at Ankleshwar in Gujarat. The company has signed an agreement with wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy for a 2.1 MW offsite windmill station to generate renewable power for captive consumption at our Ankleshwar plant. The Indian subsidiary of the French drug maker is using biomass from agro waste to generate energy for its manufacturing facility in Goa since 2012. The Ankleshwar plant produces solid dose formulations and active pharma ingredients.
