Under the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme, in which farmers get power during the day for agricultural needs, a solar power plant generating 31.67 MW electricity will be set up by the Nashik urban division of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation (MSEDCL).
The scheme will be launched in six villages, where 31.7 MW of power is expected to be produced and sold to the farmers. In order to raise the power plant, the farmers of these villages have agreed to hand over their land to the authority.
The officials guaranteed fewer losses in distribution as the power will be produced, transmitted and utilised in the vicinity. Not only will the system be monitored to avoid power thefts but also power will be made available in full strength during daytime as the farmers need it the most then. At present, the first two projects providing solar power needs have been raised in MSEDCL’s space.
