India should use local content for its solar power mission
The Union Ministries of Commerce and Industry and New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) are looking for an early solution that would enable use of more domestic products under the second phase of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission without attracting more trouble at the World Trade Organisation.

Govt may award 3,600 MW solar projects in 2 yrs
More than 3,600 MW of solar power projects would be awarded by the union government in the next two years to project developers. This includes the proposed award of 1,650 MW solar projects in 2013-14 under the Phase II of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. This will call for an investment of about Rs 13,200 crore. It also includes another 1,950 MW projects proposed to be allocated to developers in the following year.
