Mercom Capital Group, llc, released its report on funding and merger and acquisition (M&A) activity for the solar sector in 2016. Total global corporate funding in the solar sector, including venture capital/private equity (VC), debt financing, and public market financing, raised by public companies came to $9.1 billion, compared to $25.3 billion in 2015, a 64 percent drop.
Over 9 GW solar installations in India for 2017 | Mercom
Reiterating its 2017 solar installation forecast of 2017, Mercom Capital Group in its its quarterly update on the Indian solar market, said cumulative installations including large-scale and rooftop projects in the country have reached 9.6 GW.
Solar has many unique attributes which make it a preferred source of power, particularly in India, a densely populated country with a high energy deficit - where it can be rapidly deployed across most parts of the country, due to its modular nature and by virtue of it being environment friendly.
