HC admits PIL over ban on coal handling at Goa port

Following a public interest litigation filed (PIL) by NGOs from Vasco for stopping the coal handling facilities at the port, the Panaji bench of the Bombay High Court has issued notices to Mormugao Port Trust, South West Port (SWPL), Adani Mormugao Port Terminal and Vedanta to name a few.
Panel defers green nod to MCL's Rs 335 crore coal washery project

A green panel has deferred its decision on granting environment clearance to Coal India arm Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) for setting up of a Rs 334.72 crore coal washery in Odisha and asked it to get forest clearance first, and also sought other inputs.
Green panel nod for RGPL´s Rs1,428-cr ethane pipeline project

The Centre´s green panel has given environment clearance to Reliance Gas Pipeline Ltd (RGPL) for its Rs.1,428 crore project to build a 486-km long pipeline through Gujarat and Maharashtra for transportation of liquid ethane.
NTPC's Kol Dam project in Himachal gets green nod

In Himachal Pradesh, the National Thermal Power Corporation's (NTPC) 800 mw Kol Dam project on the Satluj river was on June 6 given clearance by the Union Environment Ministry, officials said. The Rs 4,527 crore hydro power project, which seeks diversion of 124 hectares of forest land from the Majathal Wildlife Sanctuary, was cleared at the meeting of the Standing Committee on National Wildlife Board.

After the NTPC decided to shift its flagship Gadarwara project from Odisha to Madhya Pradesh, the national power generator has crossed a major hurdle by securing the Union Environment Ministry’s approval for the Rs 11,640-crore power plant. Once commissioned, the project would add 1,600 mw to the company’s portfolio.
