In an effort to end load shedding, Nepal has received 40 MW of electricity from India, taking the total import of power from the country to 340 MW. The power is being given through the 132 kV Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur Transmission Line, as per an agreement signed with Power Trading Corporation, India.

Rajasthan farmers to get 7-hour power supply a day

Farmers in Rajasthan will get six to seven hours electricity daily and the state government has granted an additional ` 300 crore fund for the purpose, newly appointed Energy Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said. Besides this short-term initiative, Khinvasar said his department would start working on a long-term plan to reduce electricity transmission and distribution losses, and to improve financial condition of power distribution companies.
