The Solar Boom Marches On
Thomas Edison had in 1931 during a conversation with Henry Ford mentioned, ´I´d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power!
I hope we don´t have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that.´ It appears that Government of India (GoI) is following the same spirit while implementing the largest renewable capacity expansion program in the world
Vikram Solar launches Helitrac sun tracking system
Vikram Solar announced the launch of Helitrac, a highly advanced solar tracker with robust weather proof mechanism and multimode intelligent operations. The product showcased at REI Expo, can change its orientation throughout the day to follow the sun´s path to maximise energy capture.
Solar technology has many unique attributes which make it one of the most preferred sources of power, particularly in India, a densely populated country with a high energy deficit - it can be rapidly deployed across most parts of the country, it is modular in nature and it is environmentally friendly.
Dedicated to both innovation and value, Greenlight Planet´s Sun King™ Solar Lamp products are the first in the rural marketplace to burn for 30 hour straight and offer a breakthrough five-year lithium ferrophosphate battery. The lantern is tremendously versatile and can be nailed to the wall, used on a stand, hung from the ceiling, or carried by hand.

550 households in Chennai want to go for solar power
Like Bangalore, now, Chennai is also taking up solar power for household use. The everlasting power crunch is driving several of the city’s residents to look at the sun for power from rooftop solar energy systems. Distributed or rooftop solar power, experts say, is the best approach as there would be no loss in transmission from power plants to houses.
