Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary - Industries, Commerce and Energy, Telangana shared that the state has so far commissioned 3,800 MW of solar. This was possible due to wide response to the state´s solar policy and tenders floated for 2,500 MW of projects. The state has also commissioned 100 MW of wind and nine more locations have been identified to take up similar projects. Kumar said the state government is planning to actively encourage renewable energy and go for hybrid (wind and solar) generation in the Hyderabad Pharma City and NIMZ. On his part, Anil Jain, Advisor, NITI Aayog stated that the NITI Aayog would assist the states in achieving their renewable energy targets.
