HPCL to invest Rs.45,000 cr in infra expansion
Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd. (HPCL) plans to invest Rs.45,000 crore by 2020 in the capacity expansion of its Mumbai and Visakhaptnam refineries, as well as in augmenting its marketing infrastructure. The state-run oil marketer will invest `21,000 crore in capacity expansions, Rs.9,000 crore in marketing infrastructure, and `14,000 crore in joint venture refinery projects, natural gas business and upstream oil exploration. Rs.4,199 crore would go into the capacity expansion of its Mumbai refinery from 6.5 million tonne per annum (MTPA) to 9.5 MTPA, while Rs.17,000 crore would go in expanding the Visakhapatnam refinery to 15 MTPA from the current 8.
