On the back of positive developments for the Kudankulam nuclear project, the atomic power plant is set to join the big leagues. With six units and a capacity of 6,000 MW, the project will be similar in scale to the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, which supplies half of the country´s power and is the 5th largest nuclear plant in the world. Foundation for Units 3 and 4 have been laid, while MoUs for units 5 and 6 have been signed, heralding forward movement in this direction.
