Gamesa wins contract from SJVN for 56 wind turbines

Gamesa Wind Turbines India has bagged an order from SJVN, a ‘mini-ratna’ central public sector undertaking, for the supply of 56 wind turbines of 850 kw capacity each totalling 47.60 mw. The order comes with a 10-year ‘operations and maintenance’ services contract.

Sources told a business newspaper that the order, excluding the service contract, is worth around Rs 300 crore. SJVN’s wind farm is coming up in the Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra. Gamesa has said the project would be commissioned in eight months.

SJVN is a joint venture of the Union Government and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. It owns 5,186 mw of power capacity, including the 1,500-mw Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station.
