CESC's Chandrapur project to start soon

Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC), the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group flagship  will bring the first 300 MW unit of Chandrapur (Maharashtra) project on stream by June. The company is currently in the preparatory stage to enter fuel pact with Coal India for the project. The 2x300 MW project is being implemented by group outfit  Infrastructure at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 3,300 crore. The second unit of Chandrapur facility is expected to be operational in October. CESC currently has a total installed capacity of 1,250 MW.
