Transmission business
KEC has global leadership position in the power transmission EPC space, which is also the largest business vertical of the company. With more than seven decades of experience here, it has capabilities to design, manufacture, test, supply and erect transmission lines on a turnkey basis up to 1,200 kV.

The company undertakes EPC projects of high voltage electrical switching and distribution sub-stations, distribution network, installation of optical fibre networks, telecom towers and HV/EHV cabling project works worldwide.

It also has strong in-house design and engineering capabilities for electrical as well as structural and civil works, a global supply chain management team and a highly experienced project management team to deliver these projects as per the customer´s specific requirements.

Order book
The company´s current order book stands at Rs 10,400 crore, of which more than 50 per cent is from international markets. They expect their order book to go up by 10-15 per cent in this fiscal which is in line with their revenue growth. Roughly in a year, the company executes over 100 projects in more than 30 countries and their footprints span across more than 60 countries.

They expect double-digit growth going forward in their topline for FY15-16.

Manufacturing facility
KEC today, has the largest production capacity in the world for tower manufacturing of around 311,200 mt p.a., and pole manufacturing capacity of 12,000 mt p.a. In all, the company has eight factories in India and the Americas, including three cable manufacturing facilities, wherein KEC manufactures steel structures required for T&D lines, telecom and railway infrastructure as well as a wide range of power and telecom cables (HT and EHV cables up to 220 kV). Their cables factory in Vadodara is equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing facilities sourced from international domain experts to maintain highest standards of quality and safety.

SAE Towers Holding LLC, United States
KEC acquired 100 per cent stake in SAE Towers Holdings LLC (SAE Towers) in September 2010 at an enterprise value of $95 million. SAE Towers is headquartered in Houston, Texas (USA), it is the leading manufacturer of lattice transmission towers in the Americas.

It has a manufacturing capacity of 100,000 mt p.a. spread over two countries´Brazil and Mexico.

The company has an in-house design and engineering team, in-house tower manufacturing and tower testing team and an excellent track record of transmission line construction, project execution and project management.
