<p>The company's engineering feats include design, manufacture and construction of turnkey projects of power transmission lines upto 1,200 kV, setting up high end sub-stations, as well as manufacturing power, control, telecom and optical fibre cables and extra high voltage (EHV) turnkey cabling solutions. Headquartered in Mumbai, India, KEC has presence in 63 countries across Africa, Americas, Central Asia, Middle East, South Asia and South East Asia, and continues to expand its presence. KEC has 8 manufacturing units spread across India, Brazil and Mexico.</p>

KEC uses highly automated construction techniques in its projects to ensure smoother, faster and safer execution of its projects. It uses drones for stringing of conductors and LiDAR to conduct our surveys, apart from using mechanised construction processes such as telescopic boom crane, gin poles, etc.</p>
<p> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Operational/Performance highlights</span><br />
In 2016-17, the company significantly expanded its substation business in both, domestic and international arena, on the Air Insulated Substation (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) front. The business today, accounts for nearly 15-20 per cent of the T&D business. </p>
<p>The company also considerably scaled up its five-decades old railways business. In FY 2016-17, the railways business has more than doubled, and is expected to double this year also. The company has expanded into composite railway projects related to civil works, track laying, building railway stations, tunnels and bridges and electrification and signalling work, to become an integrated player.</p>
<p>The company has expanded its strong global EPC expertise in the Americas through its subsidiary, SAE Towers. Since its foray, the company has secured around eight EPC projects in Brazil. </p>
<p> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Financial Performance </span><br />
KEC closed the last financial year with a PAT of `305 crore, nearly double as compared to the year before. On the back of improved efficiencies, the EBITDA margin has reached a level of 9.3 per cent. The company secured orders of Rs.12,358 crore in 2016-17, which is almost 40 per cent more than that of the previous year. KEC's EPS has improved from 5.54 in FY 2015-16 to 11.86 in FY2016-17. </p>
<p> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Achievements</span><br />
The company has received two coveted awards from PGCIL for Best Performance in Transmission and for Early Completion of a Project, in 2016-17. The company has won Frost & Sullivan India Manufacturing Excellence Award. </p>
<p>The Safety & Quality awards it received include Best safety practice award from PGCIL, Safety & Quality awards from National Grid of Saudi Arabia, Green Tech Environment award and OHS trophy from the Employer's Association of Rajasthan.</p>
