Kannauj to get solar power training centre

UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has decided to set up a non-conventional energy training centre at an estimated cost of around Rs 20 crore, over an four acre area in Kannauj, to provide training to youth in installation of rooftop solar equipment and its maintenance. Kannauj is his wife Dimple Yadav´s parliamentary constituency.

The institute, proposed to be constructed in a time-bound manner by UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam, will come up in village Anaugi in Jalalabad block of the district. It will also have a residential campus for the trainees, according to Anuj Kumar Jha, District magistrate, Kannauj. This is the second such non-conventional energy institute after the one in Lucknow´s Chinhat area.

The state government, however, would not wait for the completion of building before it starts its training programme.
