Coal India output rises 14 per cent to 177 MT in four months
In the first four months of the ongoing fiscal, CIL registered a hike of 14 per cent and is said to have produced 177.43 million tonne of coal. CIL that accounts for over 80 per cent of the domestic coal production, produced 40.56 MT coal in July, against 36.69 in the last year. By pegging its production estimate at 630 MT in 2018-2019, the PSU stated that it registered a double digit growth of 15.1 per cent in coal supplies to Thermal Power Plants (TPP) during the period of April-July, as compared to last year.
