TPCIL synchronises 660-MW unit at Krishnapatnam plant

Thermal Powertech Corp Ltd (TPCIL) said that it has synchronised a second 660 MW unit of its coal-fired power plant in Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
┬┤TPCIL, which owns and operates a 1,320 MW coal-fired power plant in Krishnapatnam, successfully synchronised the second 660 MW unit of its plant to the grid,┬┤ the company said in a statement.
he first 660 MW unit began commercial operation in February 2015.With a total investment cost of approximately $1.5 billion, the power plant utilises supercritical technology, which allows enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions compared to other conventional coal-fired power plants.
