Solar's share in power gen on rise | CEA
Solar energy now accounts for almost one per cent of total power generated in India and 13 per cent of the total renewable power generated in the country. Solar accounted for 7,002.71 million units of electricity produced in the country during the seven-month period from April to October 2016, according to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). Solar energy generation continues to increase. In 2016, solar produced 3,072.41 million more units compared to the seven-month period from April to October in 2015. The numbers show how far solar has yet to go to become a significant source of electricity generation in the country.
