Oil and gas Petronet LNG is largest importer of LNG
Petronet LNG, as per news reports, is India’s largest importer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at its Dahej plant. The company recently expanded its capacity to 10 million tonne per annum (equivalent of 40 million metric standard cubic metres per day or MMSCMD). Apart from the Kochi-Bangalore pipeline project, the company’s priority would be to see that the Dahej plant, which operates over 100 per cent capacity is expanded. The company’s marine facilities for the second jetty are under construction and it hopes to have the facilities completed around 2013. It would give the firm leeway to go beyond the present capacity utilisation and once re-gasification facilities are in place, it expects a huge hike in terms of capacities.
