Pepperl+Fuchs has new facility at Bangalore
With this facility and manufacturing plant, the company aims to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 300 crore by 2015.
Pepperl+Fuchs India, a leading developer and manufacturer of electronic sensors and interface components for the automation market, has expanded its operations in Bangalore. The company has invested an additional Rs 25 crore in its facility at Peenya Industrial Area, Bangalore, which was inaugurated by Michael Fuchs, Partner, Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH. With the addition of its new facility and manufacturing plant, the company is aiming to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 300 crore by 2015.
Speaking on the occasion, Michael Fuchs, partner, Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH, said, “The Indian market is an emerging market and we feel that our expansion in India will help us in catering to the needs of our valuable customers more efficiently and promptly. We do plan for more such expansions in the future, as we are here to stay and the organisation is built around the trust on its employees and the customers we serve.”
Dr Gunther Kegel, CEO of Pepperl+Fuchs group, reiterated the company’s commitment to the Indian market and announced sourcing of all possible expertise from India though this facility for the company's global requirement. He congratulated the Indian team’s success over the years and expressed confidence in the growth pattern of India as a country and believed the accomplishment will help cope with the increasing needs of customers in India.
Thampy Mathew, MD, Pepperl+Fuchs India, said, “We are very happy to inaugurate our world-class new facility which will enable us to bring the various activities under one roof thereby enhancing our performance by synergising teamwork and avoiding all sorts of logistic hurdles. The new facility will provide room for adding more manpower in engineering and other value-added services for Indian industries and also the Pepperl+Fuchs world.” He emphasised on the vision of making customers aware of the core competence of explosion protection methodologies and Foundation Fieldbus applications as he considers it the responsibility of the market leader in these specialised fields. Pepperl+Fuchs India also does integration of its core products with junction boxes and panels that are sourced locally, which enables them to deliver value-added solutions with global quality at local prices. This 'Solution Engineering Centre' is meant to provide full-fledged engineering support to local customers. The new facility is spread across two acres of land, with 40,000 square feet area consisting of three floors to house the existing employees, besides 1,200 sq ft warehouse area to store products and 5,000 sq ft manufacturing/assembly area for local production and integration.
The company employs 4,300 people worldwide and has manufacturing facilities in Germany, USA, Singapore, Hungary, Indonesia and Vietnam, most of them ISO 9001 certified. It has two divisions: the factory automation division, a leading manufacturer of industrial sensors and the process automation division, the undisputed market leader in intrinsically safe explosion protection components and protection of hazardous area applications. It began its India operations in 1998 with headquarters in Bangalore. It has offices at Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata with area offices at Hyderabad, Pune and Vadodara.
