A Premier Expo on Electrical Industry and one of the world´s largest confluence of the power transmission and distribution (T&D) community, ELECRAMA has over the last two decades featured the biggest names in the global electrical T&D industry.
Being held biennially since 1990 in India, the eleventh edition ELECRAMA-2014 hosted 970 exhibitors from India and across the world and also attracted over 100,000 footfalls into the exhibition. It serves as the perfect launch vehicle to introduce latest products and technology, through the entire voltage spectrum, from 220 V-1,200 kV, conforming to global standards and specifications.
A large number of business and technology partnerships are also transacted during the 5-day period, making it a must attend event amongst global exhibitions. ELECRAMA visitors consist of a wide spectrum of industry stakeholders, offering them an international framework for display, discussions and deliberations.
It brings together manufacturers and suppliers to interface with key customer segments like private and public transmission and distribution utilities, EPCs, consultants and specifiers, members of the government and policy makers.
It also brings together global thought leaders in the electrical T&D sector consisting of industry leaders, engineering professionals and technologists, professionals and academia, et al through high power panel discussions, premier conferences, technical workshops, tutorials and seminars held concurrently with the exhibition.
ELECRAMA also hosts international diplomatic and trade visitor delegations from various countries and large country pavilions from leading manufacturing nations from around the world.
Government of India (GoI) participation for the newest edition--Elecrama-2016 on Februrary 13-17, 2016 in Bengaluru India--is reinforced with the presence of senior ministers like - Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Railways, Kalraj Mishra, Minister of MSME, Anant Geete, Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises and Piyush Goyal, Minister of Power who would also be inaugurating this grand event.
ELECRAMA is a stellar platform for a world view on technology, best practices, new systems and forecasting the trends in the future of electricity, both from technology and a socio-economic point of view. In its latest edition, it will for the first time feature ´WORLD UTILITY SUMMIT´, a unique global platform like no other.
This ´By Invitation Only´, event is ´of the utilities, for the utilities and by the utilities´. CXOs of more than 50 global utilities are being invited to participate in the 2-day summit to interact with CXOs of Indian utilities and share their experiences and best practices.
´Network to Networth´ is another new interesting and necessary addition to ELECRAMA 2016. N-to-N is planned for creating awareness about the huge investment and JV opportunities in the Indian electrical sector for both global and domestic investors.
ELECRAMA for the first time will also feature unique experience pavilions displaying, ´Energies of Tomorrowö and ´Evolution of 125 years of Electricity´, in collaboration with IEEE, for which a coffee table book on this subject is also under preparation. Renewable Energy pavilion is another addition under planning for displaying the strengths of the Indian Industry in the renewable sector.
Besides this, RND - Railway, Nuclear & Defense pavilion is also planned for the first time at ELECRAMA to enable interaction between industry and these critical sectors displaying their strengths, capabilities, services and plans in this specially dedicated pavilion.
Contemporary Events which have added strength to ELECRAMA over the years continue to feature. The third edition of Reverse buyer Seller Meet, supported by the Ministry of Commerce, GoI continues to generate large scale business opportunities. Over 8,000 meetings with 600 overseas buyers from 42 countries are planned over two and half days of this event.
´Engineer Infinite´ in ELECRAMA 2016 will feature 50 most innovative third year student projects in the electro mechanical segment, for encouraging young budding engineers from across the country.
A subset to this activity is ´Coffee with Sir´, where participating students listen and network with industry leaders over all five days. The 5 best students projects are awarded by an industry leader at the ´INNOVATION DAY´.
International T&D conclave, is a half-day event. It provides a unique opportunity for Indian industry to listen to and interact with global experts from the energy sector.
ELECRAMA 2016 Promotions in Zambia
ELECRAMA-2016 promotional road show and one-to-one meetings with utilities were organized at Lusaka, Zambia on September 28-29, 2015. IEEMA Delegation led by Pragati Sohoni along with A Gnansekaran, DGM - Projects, KEC International in Lusaka and Vishal Acharya, Global Network met the Indian High Commissioner Dharmendra Gaddam and discussed about IEEMA´s flagship event ELECRAMA and the offerings of ELECRAMA 2016.
The Delegation also met senior officials of Rural Electrification Authority, Zambia and briefed them about ELECRAMA 2016. TPS Rawat, Second Secretary, High Commission of India to Zambia addressed the delegates and spoke about the diversified India Power sector and how Zambia offers good market for Indian companies.
It was mentioned that the ELECRAMA exhibition is coming at proper time as currently Zambia is facing power crisis with only 22.5% of electrification work done and with large scale plans for rural electrification, the country offers huge opportunities for investment.
Elecrama-2016 at Tanzania
A senior level delegation from IEEMA led by Aaditya Dhoot, chairman - Elecrama 2016 visited high potential East African countries - Nairobi (Kenya), Dar-e-Salam (Tanzania) and Kampala (Uganda) during the last week of August 2015 to meet, interact, invite and showcase the potential ELECRAMA offers to stakeholders of the electrical industry of these countries.
The visit was also with the objective of exploring the possibilities of improving bilateral trade into the space of electrical equipment between India and East African counties. The preview of Elecrama 2016 got overwhelming response from the industry in these East Africa countries.
As a part of Global Trade Development Initiative to explore new geographies for its members, IEEMA organized its first delegation visit to East Africa region. The emphasis of the delegation was on creating awareness among the local stakeholders, Governments agencies and local companies about India.
