BPCL to skip Iran oil purchases in October
Due to a turnaround at its plants, Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) will be skipping the purchase of Iranian oil in October. However, the refiner will be lifting 1 million barrel of Iranian oil in September.
After shutting down the fire-hit hydrocracker unit last month to optimise its processing and output of refined products, the state-run oil company has changed a crude mix for its 240,000 barrel per day (bpd) Mumbai refinery. While the refinery’s 120,000 bpd, Bina refinery in central India is shut down for about 45 days from mid-August; the hydrocracker unit will remain shut for at least two months.
