Caparo closes financing for wind energy projects
The company closed financing on Rs 1.5 billion with the Infrastructure Development Finance Company to help fund its wind plans. The funding is the company's second tranche of finance after it arranged an initial Rs 3.5 billion in June and the present tranche, with a four-year term, was provided by the institute. The Rs 5 billion in funding will allow the company to build about 700 MW of wind in India, which is the world's third-largest market for new wind installations after China and the US. The company also said that it has placed purchase orders with Suzlon for 260 MW of turbines.
