Plea to Jharkhand to pace up nod for Tilaiya mega project
The Jharkhand Government has been urged by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) to facilitate land and speed up clearances for 3,960 mw Tilaiya UMPP. The mega power project is being set up by Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Power and is expected to be commissioned by 2015.
The Forest and Government land for the UMPP are yet to be handed over to Reliance Power. Tilaiya UMPP, which would cost around Rs 24,000 crore, has been allocated two captive coal mine blocks – Kerandari B and C.
