Clover Solar 1st to commission solar PV plant under JNNSM

Clover Solar announced that it was the first to successfully commission a 2.2 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Baramati, Maharashtra under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). Set up at an investment of Rs 40 crore, the plant will generate over 4 million units (kwh) of power per annum. The company was one among 16 companies in India and three in Maharashtra to win contracts under the JNNSM, which aims to encourage solar power generation and achieve coal power grid parity by 2030. The company plans to increase the capacity in 5 MW phases and is targeting 25 MW through solar energy by 2013. This is also the first solar power plant in India to incorporate solar trackers which will improve yields by 15 per cent.
